What to Expect at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

The 2019 International Flower and Garden Festival begins at Epcot on March 6th and runs through June 3rd.  The festival is full of vivid colors and exciting experiences.  And this year is no exception.  Here are some of the highlights you can expect:

Topiaries
Topiaries are a work of art throughout Epcot. But, especially during this festival.  Along with the expansive display at the park entrance, you can expect to see topiaries of the following:  Anna and Elsa, Bambi and Friends, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story Gang, Captain Hook and Peter Pan, Chip and Dale, Donald, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Daisy, Figment, Kermit and Miss  Piggy, Lady and the Tramp, Lightning McQueen ​

and Mater, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy, Lion King characters, Snow White and Dopey, Stitch, The Three Caballeros, Pooh and Friends.  There will also be some great Memory Maker photo opportunities available. ​

Outdoor Kitchens
Food booths will be set up throughout the World Showcase offering small plate menus of creative cuisine and specialty drinks.

Fun Exhibits
New this year is Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration: an interactive scavenger hunt around Epcot with a cute little bee who needs to pollinate flower beds across the Park! For the Easter season, April 5th – April 21st, there’s the Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt that let’s you race all around the World Showcase to find Disney character-themed eggs. (A $6.99 event map is required for these activities).  Also, make sure to check out the Goodness Garden Butterfly House along with artists placed around the World showcase that will be demonstrating and selling their work.

Garden Rocks
The Garden Rocks Concert Series will be occurring 7 nights a week during the festival.  This years performers include: Steve Augeri, Glass Tiger, Jon Anderson, Tony Orlando, Wang Chung, Simple Plan, Ambrosia, Magic Giant, Air Supply, Berlin, The Smithereens, Rick Springfield, Christopher Cross, The Spinners, Dennis DeYoung, John Michael Montgomery, Sister Sledge, Night Ranger, Sister Hazel, Steven Curtis Chapman, TobyMac, Lonestar, The Orchestra, Herman’s Hermits, 

Don Felder, A Flock of Seagulls, Marshall Tucker Band, Peobo Bryson, Richard Marx, Starship, Colin Hay, War, The Guess Who, Jon Secada, Blood, Sweat and Tears, and Eddie Palmieri.  ​​

Special Tours
The festival includes some ticketed tours as well.  The Gardens of the World Tour takes guests on a 3-hour walking tour of the World Showcase Pavilions while teaching behind-the-scenes techniques and the role of landscaping around WDW. The Royal Tea Garden Tour takes guests through the England Pavilion garden before Park opening to explore and learn about the landscaping. After the garden tour, guests stop in The Tea Caddy to try tea and scones! If you don’t want to pay the ticket, you can try the English Tea Garden Presented by Twinings of London for a guided tour without the scones.  Same-day registration is recommended to guarantee a spot.
