This includes requiring face coverings for all guests (ages 2 and up) and Cast Members along with temperature checks at some locations. In order open safely, Walt Disney World had to make some hard decisions. The biggest being the cancellation of all existing dining and FastPass reservations and other “experience” reservations including dining plans. The reason behind these cancellations is Disney will initially be managing attendance through a new park reservation system. Guests with resort reservations will be required to pre-book a visit to a certain theme park for a certain day. For that to work, Disney needed to start with a clean slate. Walt Disney World will also be moving from a 180-day window to a 60-day window to make dining reservations. However, guests who are traveling close to the opening date that had their reservations cancelled during this time will be given priority. Due to limited capacity, FastPasses and Extra Magic Hours will be suspended temporarily. Disney like the rest of us is trying to figure out the new normal during these unprecedented times. This is a developing and fluid situation and a lot can change between now and your trip. As time passes more information will be released. The one thing that won’t change is that Disney will continue to do everything they can to make your vacation experience as magical as possible. Dreaming of your next trip?
