Travel Restrictions Update

As we celebrate the unofficial start to summer this Memorial weekend, I can’t help but think what a difference a year makes.  Last year at this time travel plans were at a standstill and this year it seems like everyone is gearing up for summer and fall travel.

While travel restrictions have lightened here in the U.S. and continue to change sometimes daily, it’s important to keep up with changes and rely on your travel advisor for the most up-to-date information.  That being said, here are the latest updates for some popular domestic destinations:

​ Walt Disney World

• To enter a theme park, Guests (ages 3 and older) will need a valid ticket and a theme park reservation for the same day and same park they want to visit. Temperature checks have been discontinued throughout the resort.
• Social distancing markers have been removed at Disney hotels along with select attractions and stores.
• Face coverings are now optional in outdoor common areas and pool decks.
• Face coverings are still required in all indoor locations, including shops, indoor hotel public areas, transportation, theaters and attractions.
• On attractions, face coverings are required from the moment the queue begins until the exit of the experience, even if the queue is outside.
• Children ages two and under are not required to wear face coverings during their visit.

​Universal Orlando:

• Temperature checks have been discontinued throughout the resort.
• Social distancing measures have been reduced to three feet in parks, shopping areas, and resorts.

• Face coverings are no longer mandatory indoors or outdoors for those who have been fully vaccinated.
• Visit Universal Orlando Safety Guidelines for updated information.

​Disneyland Resort:

• To enter a theme park, Guests (ages 3 and older) will need a valid ticket and a theme park reservation for the same day and same park they want to visit.
• Beginning June 15, 2021 Disneyland and California Adventure will open to all guests.
• Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel have begun a phased reopening and the Disneyland Hotel plans to reopen on July 2, 2021 with reduced capacity.
• The Downtown Disney District is open with select retail and dining locations.
• Certain parks, hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings are modified or will have limited capacity.

Visiting Hawaii:  
All travelers must have a negative COVID test result from a Hawaii trusted travel partner, within 72 hours BEFORE the final leg of their trip to Hawaii. Anyone without a negative test result PRIOR to departure must quarantine upon arrival. The negative test result must be uploaded onto Hawaii’s Safe Travels website prior to departure or travelers have the option to have their results printed out prior to departure and provide a hard copy when arriving in Hawaii.

To date, vaccination status does not affect this requirement.  Even those vaccinated must provide negative test results. Likewise, as to the most recent CDC recommendation regarding vaccinated travelers not needing masks, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii have not decided on this. So at this time vacationers – regardless of vaccination status – must continue to mask as required by local and state law.
